Each document is created for the individual needs of the client, is industry-specific, and is formatted to be compatible with Applicant Tracking Systems. If a client has two or more diverse career objectives, two or more resumes may be needed--one for each targeted objective. For optimum applicant tracking systems performance, we recommend that clients customize their resumes to suit each job posting's requirements.

Clients who require more than 180 minutes of virtual meeting time must purchase additional consultations at a rate of $175 per hour with a 30-minute minimum charge ($87.50). Resume virtual meetings are for document development only. Career coaching calls are available for an additional charge. Clients are responsible for all long-distance charges related to their order.
Communication is key to timely project completion. To keep the writing project on track, clients should answer any questions the writer submits to the client promptly. All revisions to document(s) must be submitted by the Client via the client portal within 7 business days of receipt of the Client's first draft to avoid project delays and additional charges. If the Client is unable to review the document or provide feedback for revisions within 7 business days, please submit a written request via the client portal chat to extend the Client’s project timeline within 3 business days of receiving the first draft from the Writer. If the Client fails to communicate with the Writer within 14 days of placing the order or fails to communicate revisions within 14 days from delivery of first draft by the Writer, the Client's project will be closed and archived, no refund will be given, and a $100 reactivation fee will be charged to the Client to restart the Client's project. The reactivation places the Client in a new project queue as Writer serves Clients on a first-come, first-served basis. If the scope of the project changes from the Client’s original order, the writer will advise the client of additional charges and confirm in writing that the Client wants to move forward with the expanded scope of work. We require the client's written approval of final drafts and receipt of payment in full before final documents are emailed to the client.
Due to the time invested by Written by a Pro's writer and editor to create custom resumes/CVs, social media profiles, and career correspondence, we do not offer cash refunds. Credit card orders canceled by the client in writing within 24 hours of placing the client's initial order and before any work has begun on the client's project by the writer or editor are eligible for a credit card refund minus the cost of the credit card processing fees, which will be withheld by Written by a Pro to cover the cost of processing the transaction. Once 24 hours have transpired from the time the order is placed by the client or work has begun on the client's project by the Writer or Editor, no monetary refunds are given, without exception.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. We will work with you to correct any problems during the document development process to ensure your satisfaction with your finished document(s). In more than 20 years of business, we've developed an efficient resume writing/editing process, and we'll walk you through the process step-by-step using the secure client portal. We ask that clients complete any action items assigned prior to the client's next scheduled appointment. Client's initial order includes two rounds of revisions during the document development process.
Although we do have extensive quality controls, including an editorial checklist, clients are ultimately responsible for proofreading all documents. Typographical errors are corrected free of charge. Resume revisions or updates beyond the two rounds of revisions included in the initial order cost extra, and additional fees apply, depending on the expanded scope of work on the project.
It is the sole responsibility of the client to proofread and approve the final draft of each document. For the protection of our client’s privacy, Written by a Pro will not send any documents to prospective employers, recruiters, or anyone else without the client's express written consent, and additional fees for submission of documents to approved people will apply.
Each service level (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum), includes a list of included items in the product description. Should the scope of the project exceed the items included in the client's original order, the client will be billed for additional writing/editing services requested by the client. Clients must submit a written change order via email and pay for the additional writing/editing services in advance.

60-Day Service Guarantee
For clients who purchase a new resume writing package, we make this promise: If, after 60 days of actively distributing the unaltered resume prepared by Written by a Pro, you are not getting calls for interviews, we will rewrite/revise your resume once absolutely free. Simply email us your resume submission log showing at least 30 resumes distributed over 60 days to recruiters and qualified leads in your field of expertise. The resume submisson log should contain the contact person's name and job title, company name, phone, email address, job board's URL, and hyperlink to the job posting as well as a copy of each job description in Microsoft Word format because hyperlinks expire.
We'll review your career goals and summary of qualifications in the resume prepared by Written by a Pro and collaborate with you to revise/rewrite your resume once within the first 60 days of purchase. The resume distribution log enables us to address issues in resume content and job search strategies.
Many factors are analyzed:
Does the job seeker's experience meet the minimum requirements of the job posting?
Are there gaps in employment?
Could ageism be a factor?
What is the economic outlook for that industry?
Are there few or plenty of jobs in the job seeker's field?
What are your references saying about you?
If you have a common name, does your credit check reveal a credit report that shows another person's information?
Have you run a background check on yourself to see if another person's criminal convictions are incorrectly included in your record?
Are there any other factors to consider, such as prior terminations for cause, no legal right to work in the USA, or language barriers?
Have you used AI to generate content? The ATS may detect AI use, flag your content as plagiarism, and reject your application.
In more than 20 years of business, Sharla Taylor has rarely had to rewrite resumes that were underperforming. Written by a Pro’s writers and editors do not use generic AI-generated content; we only use AI for research purposes. All content is written by a human to ensure your resume is worded appropriately for your unique situation. The writing/editing team is committed to your job search success!
Editorial Review Services
We offer editorial review services for budget-minded job seekers. We'll review your existing resume and provide a written report with editorial advice and actionable insights on how the job seeker can improve his-or-her job search documents. Please be advised that review services are not covered under the 60-day service guarantee because Written by a Pro (and its associate writers and editors) simply cannot guarantee the performance of a resume, cover letter / e-note, or LinkedIn profile we did not create. However, 50% of editorial review services can be applied to the purchase of any new resume package within 30 days of the editorial review. This is our lowest-price service level, which is intended to help people who may not have the financial resources to purchase a new resume package.
