Dear Job Seeker,
Don't let a tough job search get you down. You are worth infinitely more than a lifetime of paychecks. God put you on this planet for a much bigger purpose, and you have unique talents, strengths, and perspectives that you bring to the world.
For those of you who may be struggling with job loss, hold this scripture close at heart:
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11 (TLB)
Dare to dream a new dream about the type of career you want, the lives you'll touch, and the difference you'll make in your work.
I challenge you to stop defining yourself in terms of your limitations. Who you are is not defined by what happened to you in the past. As Mary Morrissey teaches in her book Building Your Field of Dreams, "your history does not dictate your destiny." Dare to say, "Up until now things have been this way, but with God's help I chose a different path. Further affirm, "I am learning to be a conscious co-creator with God in my new beginning."
Henry David Thoreau wrote, "… If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours."
"With God, all things are possible."
-- Mark 10:27 (NIV). Matthew 19:26 (KJV).
Hebrews 3:13 (NIV) teaches us to “encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today.” I would love to work with you as your resume writer, interview coach, and job search strategist to help you through your job search journey.
Your friend in Christ (and careers),
Sharla Taylor
